You know, like Bilbo Baggins? It's my super clever nickname for Anthony. ;)
Well, today is his 29th birthday!! I didn't spend last year's birthday with him, so I'm especially excited to be around for this one.
Anthony's "wish" for his birthday was to spend time with me, so that's what we did/are doing. We both have to work today, so we spent yesterday together, instead. We went to Ziggie's for breakfast, and what do you know-- it got classy! They gave us watermelon and a chocolate chip muffin for an appetizer. (If you live in Springfield, this is a 'whaaaaaaaa' type of situation.)
We played Portal 2 (two player) for at least two hours, because that's what he wanted. We went to HuHot for dinner, and then we browsed at Barnes and Noble. It was a fairly simple day, but we're planning on going floating next Saturday, since I have the entire weekend off and we can make a reservation. I can't wait!
Today, I made him cinnamon rolls for breakfast. YUM. And now I'm making homemade Somoas, because back when we were "just friends" (aka- dating in denial), I would buy these from the Girl Scouts and then "casually" drop them off at his house, or wherever he was. (ha)
After we get off of work, we're going to Amy's house for his favorite meal-- chicken and dumplings and pumpkin cheesecake. She knows him well... I'll give him his presents at her house. I really hope that he likes them.
Anyway, if you've been following my blog for a while, I'm sure that you've picked up on how highly I think of him. He is a wonderful man, one I'm proud to know.
I can flip a blueberry pancake onto his brand new laptop and he just tells me he loves me. That's the guy I'm dating! I have no complaints; I am one blessed girl, that's for sure.
If you want some more insight into this incredible guy, check out his dad's blog post for today that's dedicated to him: Philosophical Vampire
Well, I'm off to finish off these Samoas. Wish me luck.. I've never tried this before! If they turn out, I'll share the recipe!
Happy Birthday, Anthony!!!!
