Detective Sun is a JERK.

Well, I am burned. This is not a baby sunburn-- it is the motherload of sunburns. Okay, it's not as bad as it could be, and the burn is in an isolated area; BUT, it hurts!!!

(Also, if anyone else asks me why I didn't wear sunscreen, I am going to set them on fire.)

Amy jokingly told me that I should make a jingle to help me remember to wear sunscreen. Well, Amy, here's your freakin' jingle. (use this tune)

Don't forget your sunscreen,
or else you will just scream;
your skin will turn a shade of red--
then you'll wish you were dead!

(repeat, repeat)

Happy?

Anyway, here are a few pictures, just so you know that I'm not faking it. ;)
(Keep in mind that I have aloe on my skin, so it's not as gross as it looks.)

Lesson of the year: WEAR SUNSCREEN, or else you will die.

Cheers, smarties.

As Chloe.anne said, keep that aloe on it!! You might also try vitamin E cream. The healing property of vitamin E is fabulous. Long story short, I worked at a health food store for a while, had a customer come in with a severe road burn down her whole right side, she got a vitamin E cream, used it several times a day, every day for a week. Her road burn was deep and nasty!! When she came back for more E cream you could see pink skin where it had been nearly black from the burn. A week after that she came back for more E cream and showed me her worst burns, they were seriously pink with new skin. Her doctor told her she would have severe scarring from the burns, by the time she'd used the cream for six months there was no evidence at all of the burn.

Get better!! Keep that beautiful skin covered!!

Don't worry, I have a horrible time remembering to put it on. And then I hate myself when I forget and get burned! I get them bad too. Ugh. It's that time of year again! wooooooo...

OOhhh...I've done that before. It hurts like hades! Please take care, and watch out..it can get infected...which would be bad, so keep it clean even though that hurts too! Live like a vampire for a little while and you will hopefully heal soon...poor Liz. :( This is why I believe in wide brim hats, parasols, and sunscreen (I hate how sunscreen feels...sticky) but I burn super easy. Heal up poor Liz...maybe it will help to think of yourself like a caterpillar in a cocoon..just wait till your new skin breaks through...like a butterfly! Hearts, janna lynn

You should be very very glad you don't live at a high altitude. It is actually easier to get sunburned when you are closer to the sun (weird how that works huh). I got burned the other day, it's not that bad but it still hurts occasionally. I love the emperors new groove, now I am craving watching the movie (if it's possible to crave a movie). I like your jingle by the way, very creative.
Love you!

dolly, go for the vit. e cream. if nothing else alternate it with the aloe. I vote for a wide brimhat and umbrella for next week. btw chris took 3 blue ribbons at the meet on Saturday. he is going to do really well this season.

Oh my gosh are you blistering?! Owie!!! Aloe will help it heal fast. I wish we had sun here, so you can send some of that heat my way if you'd like =]

Oh boy, sunburns really suck!! Pardon my French, but I know what I'm talking about. Lately I do my very best to avoid sunburns, because it ruins so many days. :(

Hope you'll be better soon. XO.

P.S.: Yoghurt is also a very good healer on burnt skin!

Vitamin E capsules will help it heal quickly. You pop a hole in each end with a needle, and squeeze it onto your burn. In the meantime Walmart has an aloe spray that has a pain reliever in it that works wonders. Sending speedy recovery thoughts your way. <3

so sorry for your pain! I think I'm the opposite, I wear sunscreen all the time, even if I'm just going to a walk, especially on my face and neck. I want to delay the wrinkles as long as I can.

haha! That comic was too funny! I'm so sorry you are in pain. I got one like that last year and I thought I was going to die! Bra straps were the worst!!!
Feel better soon!
Tylenol actually helps some too!
